BSkyB announces strong profits growth

Satellite broadcaster BSkyB announced strong growth in annual profits today after adding 83,000 subscribers in the final three months of the period.

The improvement in the quarter to June 30 took the company’s direct-to-home (DTH) digital subscriber base to 7.8 million, as it said it remained on track to achieve a target of eight million users by the end of the calendar year.
