Thousands tippling wine, says survey

The number of wine drinkers in Ireland has doubled over the past 15 years, according to a study by supermarket group SuperValu.

The company said a survey it commissioned found the number of people who profess a liking for wine increased from 730,000 in 1990 to almost 1.5 million last year.
