Building materials prices up 5.6%

Building material prices increased by 5.6% in the year to the end of April. The breakdown includes structural steel (+14.6%), reinforcing metal (+13.5%), cement (+11.2%) and bituminous emulsions (+11.2%).

Today's statistics from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) also reveal that factory gate prices increased by 1.7% in April 2005. This compares to an increase of 1.1% recorded for April of last year.
