Annual inflation increases to 2.2% in April

Consumer prices in April, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, increased by 0.5% in the month.

This compares to an increase of 0.4% in April of last year and, as a result, the annual rate of inflation rose slightly to 2.2%, up from 2.1% in March.
