New internet bank offers 3% interest on all deposits

A new internet-based bank has entered the Irish market, promising to pay interest on deposits at 10 times the current average in Ireland.

The Dutch firm Rabobank, which claims to run Europe's largest internet bank, said it was offering interest rates of 3% on all deposits to Irish customers.
