Publicans 'should freeze drink prices to halt falling sales'

Labour Party TD Kathleen Lynch has called on publicans to freeze the price of drink if they want to prevent further declines in sales.

The vintners organisation has reported a significant fall-off in trade in the past year, with most blaming the workplace smoking ban that came into force in March 2004.
