Uninsured drivers cost motorists €45 each

Law abiding motorists are paying €45 each a year to cover the costs incurred by those who refuse to pay for car insurance.

The Irish Insurance Federation says it spent more than €70m in 2003, compensating the victims of accidents involving uninsured drivers.
