Employees 'not adequately rewarded' says new workplace survey
Employees feel they are not being rewarded for good performance, according to survey results released today by Mercer Human Resource Consulting.
Mercer conducted What’s Working studies in 16 countries to gain insights from employees on their satisfaction levels and commitment to their organisation’s success.
According to the survey, managers are not adequately supporting employee development, which is a key driver of employee commitment.
Employees are positive about resource support and the quality of products and services. However, they are less positive about the level of feedback they receive regarding their performance.
Trust in senior management is low, due in part to the lack of a clear business vision for the future and insufficient contact between managers and employees and few employees believe that they are rewarded for good performance.
Employees report sufficient authority levels, but do not feel encouraged to innovate.
