'Glitches' crash HSBC cash and card machines

Banking giant HSBC said technical glitches brought much of its UK cash machine and online network to a standstill today.

HSBC customers were unable to withdraw money at many of the bank’s high street cash dispensers or carry out transactions on its website after the problems started just after midday.
