Pay rates in construction sector up 6%

Workers in the construction workers have seen their hourly rate of pay increase by 6% in the 12 months to the end of September this year, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The CSO said the average hourly rate across all grades in the sector had increased from €15.28 in September 2003 to €16.19 in September of this year.
