The Bank of England today warned of spiralling levels of credit card borrowing as it revealed household debt in Britain was growing at 15% a year.

The Bank of England today warned of spiralling levels of credit card borrowing as it revealed household debt in Britain was growing at 15% a year.

It said in its twice-yearly Financial Stability Review that debt was likely to remain strong over the next few years – but that this could be reversed if there is a substantial fall in the housing market.
