European Union finance ministers have warned Europe and the US must both act to stem the euro’s rise against the US dollar.

“We all have homework to do. This is true on both sides of the Atlantic,” said European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet after a meeting of EU finance ministers who weighed the impact of the euro’s spectacular rise against the dollar.
