Industries affected by the pirating of clothes, DVDs and other goods have reportedly blamed lenient court sentences for a huge rise in the seizure of counterfeit goods in Ireland in recent years.

Reports this morning said the Irish National Federation Against Copyright Theft had claimed that 60% of all DVDs, videos and Playstation games sold in Ireland were counterfeit.
