British Chancellor Gordon Brown today received a fresh warning that he faces the prospect of raising taxes or cutting public spending if he is to bring the British government’s finances under control.

British Chancellor Gordon Brown today received a fresh warning that he faces the prospect of raising taxes or cutting public spending if he is to bring the British government’s finances under control.

The Paris-based Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development said that unless tax revenues picked up, the rising government deficit may force the Mr Brown to act.
