The ISEQ index of Irish shares fell 43.54 points to 6072.24 in morning trade today.

Financial stocks had a rough morning, with all of them seeing falls. Bank of Ireland was down 10 cent to €11.63. AIB is down three cent to €14.42 while Anglo Irish Bank fell five cent to €16.15. Irish Life and Permanent fell five cent to €13.65.

Ryanair stock fell by one cent to €4.99 today. The airline announced today 70,000 "free" flights for customers in Germany (exclusive of taxes). The giveaway is to celebrate carrying 10 million passengers in the country. The airline operates from eight regional airports throughout Germany.
