Dollar hits record low against euro

The US dollar slid to another record low against the euro today as dealers warned of a funding gap for America’s ballooning budget deficits.

The greenback moved to within touching distance of the $1.30 mark against Europe’s single currency, hitting a low of 1.2987 before recovering slightly.
