Irish insurance firms took in almost €22bn in premiums last year, a 3% increase on the figures for 2002, according to a report published by the financial watchdog IFSRA today.

The 2003 Insurance Statistical Review said almost €15bn of this money related to Life companies, while more than €7bn was generated by Non-Life companies.
