British Airways tabled an improved pay offer worth an extra £1,000 (€1,488) to staff today in a dramatic attempt to avert strikes over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The news comes as it was claimed a 24-hour walkout by check-in staff at British Airways could cost the airline around £10m (€14.8m).
