Xilinx report 5% rise in sales
Xilinx has reported a 5% increase in sales since the last quarter up to the beginning of July.
The programmable microchip manufacturer had revenues of $424m (€348m) which is a 35% rise on the same quarter last year.
Wim Roelandts, chairman and chief executive officer of Xilinx said that sales worldwide were up in the quarter.
Net income at the firm, which has its European headquarters in Ireland, was $95.3m (€78.2m), with diluted earnings per share of $0.26 cents.
The diluted earnings include the $7.2m (€5.9m) acquisition of Hier Design, a developer of microchip design software.
Xilinx also employ more than 400 people in Ireland at a R&D centre.
