12% hike in new cars, spike in used car figures

There were 13,619 new private cars licensed in June, 2004, compared with 12,180 in June, 2003, an increase of 11.8%, according to figures released today.

First licensing of second-hand private cars increased by 742 (67.9%) on the same month last year.
