Oil giant BP today said it expected its production in the second quarter to rise 17% above last year.

Oil giant BP today said it expected its production in the second quarter to rise 17% above last year.

The petroleum group, which pleased investors by restating its reserves upwards earlier this week, said production was likely to be around 3,950 million barrels of oil per day equivalent, up from 3,366 in the same quarter last year, but down by 2% from the first quarter.
