Marks & Spencer today insisted its new chief executive had its full support after the City watchdog said it was investigating dealing in the group’s shares.

M&S said it was confident that the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) probe would show Stuart Rose had done nothing wrong in buying M&S shares shortly before billionaire Philip Green launched his bid for the group.
