British bank slashes jobs in £40m restructuring

British banking group Bradford & Bingley is axing 600 jobs as part of a £40m (€60m) cost-cutting drive, it said today.

The former building society said it has cut 150 jobs and plans to axe a further 450 positions by the end of 2005.
