New appointment to Greencore board

The board of ISEQ-listed food company Greencore has appointed David Simons as a non-executive director, with effect from July 1.

Mr Simons is chairman of the privately-owned British retail chain Littlewoods Limited, and has been a non-executive director there since 1996.

From 1993 to 2000, Mr Simons was CEO of British supermarket chain Somerfield plc. He has also held important positions in House of Fraser and Toys R Us
