PIAB unveils injury awards structure
A person who fractures their skull at work and loses consciousness could claim up to €129,000 under the Personal Injuries Assessment Board's compensation guide, published today.
A claimant who suffers a soft tissue injury – such as whiplash – could receive €78,400 if a 'serious and permanent neck condition' is diagnosed, while those who are awarded compensation for a 'serious and permanent back condition' could be entitled to a maximum of €69,700.
