Broadband boost sees Eircom's profits soar

Eircom has reported a 9% hike in earnings in its annual results this morning.

A huge leap in high-speed broadband telephone customers helped Eircom, Ireland’s biggest telecoms company, to a 9% rise in profits last year.

The once-state-backed concern today reported a profit total of €602 million.
