Consumer chief calls for tougher penalties
Tougher fines should be imposed on businesses who fail to comply with consumer protection laws, the Government was urged today.
At the launch of her office’s 2003 annual report, Director of Consumer Affairs Carmel Foley also called for a strengthening of the consumer’s voice in the courts.
