Capital acquisitions hit €1169.0m at end of 2003

Capital acquisitions in industry in Q4 2003 were €1169.0m, compared to €1238.6m in the fourth quarter of 2002.

The major contributor to the total figure was acquisitions of machinery and equipment, which amounted to €851.3m in the fourth quarter of 2003, following on a fourth quarter 2002 level of €799.0m.
