Ericsson steps out of doldrums in Q1

Swedish telecoms equipment maker Ericsson has reported a first quarter profit well ahead of market expectations, helped by cost reductions and the first sales increase in more than three years.

Ericsson recorded a net profit of €328m in the first three months of the year, compared with a loss of more than €470m a year earlier.
