The International Monetary Fund has called on the EU to consider a new cut in eurozone interest rates to help economic growth.

In its twice-yearly World Economic Outlook report, the IMF said that the eurozone faces another year of weak growth with its estimated for 2004 eurozone growth lowered by 0.1% to 1.7%.
