US computer maker Apple said last night that its second quarter net profit more than tripled, boosted by flying sales of iPod digital music players.

US computer maker Apple said last night that its second quarter net profit more than tripled, boosted by flying sales of iPod digital music players.

Apple said net profit for its second quarter of fiscal 2004, which ended March 27, was $46m (€38.4m), compared with $14m (€11.7m) in the same period last year.
