UK house prices up 9.8% in February

UK house prices were up 9.8% in February compared with the same month a year ago - their highest level since October 2003, according to data released by Britain's Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

But despite the annual gain, the monthly comparison showed a different picture, with prices down 1% from January.
