German discount chains Aldi and Lidl are continuing to lose market share in Ireland as a result of severe price competition from Dunnes Stores and Tesco.

Figures, leaked in a Sunday newspaper at the weekend, indicate a 4.8% market share for February, down from 5.6% for September, and 5.4% a year ago.
