UK LibDem Kennedy misses budget speech

British Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy will miss the UK's budget statement because he has a “violent stomach bug”, his office said today.

Mr Kennedy’s spokeswoman said the leader would also miss Prime Minister’s Questions, which precedes Chancellor Gordon Brown’s speech in the Commons.
