ISME endorses removal of threshold on R&D investment

ISME, the independent business lobby group, has strongly endorsed the decision by the Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy, to remove the €50,000 threshold on Research & Development (R&D), which allows small businesses to benefit from the tax credit available.

The threshold was introduced in the last Budget, and, according to ISME, put SMEs at a disadvantage to big business in this area.
