January's Consumer Price Index (CPI) shows that prices overall decreased by 0.5% on the month, according to figures released today from the Central Statistics Office.

January's Consumer Price Index (CPI) shows that prices overall decreased by 0.5% on the month, according to figures released today from the Central Statistics Office.

This compares to a decrease of 0.4% in January of last year and as a result the annual inflation rate fell to 1.8% down from 1.9% in December.The rate was 4.8% in January last year.
