Ireland's exports to non-EU countries decreased by 4%, and imports by 2% for 2003, according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office today (CSO).

The downturn has been significantly influenced by a drop in trade of machinery and transport equipment but there were internal compensating shifts within imports and exports of chemicals and related products.
