UBS reports Q4 profit of €1.18bn

UBS has reported a fourth-quarter net profit of €1.18bn, benefiting from tight cost control and improved markets last year.

Net profit for the full year 2003 rose 81% to €4.08bn from €2.23bn in 2002, ahead of analysts' expectations.
