Job advertisements in January increase by 3%

Bank of Ireland's business banking's job index has recorded the highest-ever number of jobs advertised in the national daily and Sunday newspapers in January, up 3% on the same period last year.

The number of jobs advertised last month was 19,606. The previous highest level was in February 2003, when 18,946 jobs were advertised. The tracking commenced in April 2002.
