Agricultural income up 4.9% in 2003

Preliminary data from the Central Statistics Office shows that agricultural income in 2003 increased by 4.9% on the year, before reductions for interest payments and land rental.

This figure is ahead of the advance estimates published in early December. The difference between the advance and preliminary data is due to updated subsidy payment and cereal output data from the Department of Agriculture and Food, and to the full availability of actual price and volume data for the calculation of milk output in 2003.
