Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, has announced that Britain has joined with three other EU member countries in a joint initiative to reduce the union's regulatory burdens.

Brown said the European Commission was creating "inflexibility" in its member economies through directives on regulating working time, agency workers, and investment services.
