Accountant groups cast aside merger plans

The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) have decided not to proceed with balloting members on a proposed merger of the two Institutes.

It follows the recommendations of a joint Steering Group which was established to examine the issue and was made up of members of both Institutes.
