Anglo Irish Bank today told shareholders at its AGM that profits for its first quarter are well up on the same period last year and ahead of expectations.

Anglo Irish Bank today told shareholders at its AGM that profits for its first quarter are well up on the same period last year and ahead of expectations.

"The bank has enjoyed an excellent first quarter with profits well up on the corresponding period last year and ahead of budget," said chairman Peter Murray.
