Motorola announces solid Q4 results

Wireless technology giant Motorola, reporting fourth quarter results, last night said profits jumped 180%, despite falling sales at its mobile phone division.

Net income rose to a better than expected $489m (€388m) in the three months to December, from $174m (€138m) a year earlier, and turnover was up 4% to $8bn (€6.3bn).
