State-controlled French operator France Telecom said today it plans to cut 14,500 jobs worldwide in 2004, including 8,800 in France.

State-controlled French operator France Telecom said today it plans to cut 14,500 jobs worldwide in 2004, including 8,800 in France.

In 2003, the company cut 13,100 jobs, including 7,700 in France, in order to pay €15bn of debt due last year.
