ECB holds interest rates steady

The European Central Bank kept interest rates steady today, with economists saying rates are likely to stay unchanged into next year.

The bank’s 18 member governing council, meeting in Frankfurt, decided to leave the main refinancing rate at 2%, where it has been for the past six months.
