Consumers are starting to spend again with the volume of retail sales in September rising for the second month in a row.

According to a report from the Central Statistics Office the volume of retail sales increased by 0.1% in September 2003, compared to September 2002, and increased by 2.4% from August after rising 1.2% the previous month.
