Synopsys launches work initiative for schools

The Blanchardstown office of semiconductor design software group Synopsys Inc and Junior Achievement Ireland today launch an initiative aimed at encouraging local primary-school children to remain in school through to second-level education.

The scheme involves Synopsys staff travelling to local schools to introduce students to the world of work over the next six months involving about 300 students. The Synopsys Foundation, Synopsys' non-profit arm, has made an investment of €9,000 in the plan.

Three local schools are involved - St. Patricks NS in Corduff, St. Philips NS in Mountview and Blakestown Community School.

The foundation aims to inspire the next generation of technology leaders by reaching out to local communities to foster education and science programs.
