ESRI report recommends Govt spend cutbacks

The Economic and Social Research Institute has recommended cutbacks in Government spending on hospitals, rural water schemes, waste management, alternative energy and social housing projects.

The Institute has also recommended a freeze in spending on road and transport schemes until delays in existing projects are addressed and an increase in spending on childcare and “lifelong learning”.
