Sony set to axe 20,000 worldwide

Japanese electronics and entertainment giant Sony is conducting a review of its operations, and is expected to announce up to 20,000 job losses worldwide, company officials said.

The cuts are part of a wide ranging restructure plan and represent about 10% of its work force of 161,000.
